Dr. Thaney considers continuing education to be of paramount importance to meeting the dental and overall health needs of his patients. And, rather than just study the minimum required for licensure, he continues to study extensively and stay abreast of all the new techniques to advance his clinical skills. Dr. Thaney has attended innovative courses at the prestigious Spear Education institute and attends numerous other courses to further develop his skills throughout the year.

Dr. Thaney prides himself on investing in modern technologies that make dental care convenient and comprehensive. But it is his approach that truly sets him apart by treating patients with the same caring philosophy – offering the best dental care available so he can have a positive impact of your overall dental health. He is a member of the Monroe Dental Society, Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, American Dental Association, New York State Dental Society and Seventh District Dental Society.

Growing up, Dr. Thaney hails from Chili, New York. He graduated from The Aquinas Institute in 1996. He then attended Walsh University in Canton, OH, and it was here that he met his wife, Mary. After graduating with a B.S. in Biology, Dr. Thaney attended Case Western Reserve School of Dentistry. He graduated in 2004 with his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.

Dr. Thaney returned to Rochester and has been practicing in the area since 2004. He values giving back to his patients and the surrounding communities. Dr. Thaney and the Brockport Smiles team are upstanding members of the Brockport community and are proud to partner and support many area organizations and projects.
